We will start the walk at the fortress walls: you will learn about their structure, symbolism, and the features of the material. I will reveal the tricks that the rulers used in the Middle Ages and tell you how Baku was divided into internal and external parts. We will admire the ancient mosques and talk about religion in Azerbaijan. Consider the merchants' houses — who has the best? And, of course, you will walk through the streets where the famous Soviet film The Diamond Hand was filmed.

You will get acquainted with the residence of the rulers of the Shirvanshahs, whose empire lasted longer than the Ottoman one! We will talk about the history of the state, about how they were looking for a place for the palace, and the objects of the exhibition will tell about the life, costumes and orders of that time.

In addition to history and religion, of course, stories about the local way of life, culture, traditions and customs are waiting for you. Walking along the winding streets, you will be amazed at the genius of ancient city planners, hear about the cunning military defense and sewage system, learn how to ensure the safety of not only residents, but also animals. You will definitely remember the picturesque Governor's Garden of the 19th century and the filming locations of Soviet films. Great memories will also be a visit to the artist's workshop and a shop with Sheki national silk products — they are painted according to the technology of the 6th century.

First, the trail of the Silk Road will lead us to the ancient temple of fire Ateshgah — a place where iconic names, histories and religions are intertwined. Here we will talk about Zoroastrianism and Hinduism, Alexandre Dumas and Indira Gandhi, the Nobels and Mendeleev, the Romanovs and the Rothschilds. You will see a sacred place where the ancient Zoroastrians found their deity, and the Hindus found peace. And you will also hear the story of the local Aladdin lamp and the birth of the "Oil Civilization": after all, it was here that the invisible front line in the battle between the Russian Empire and America for world oil domination took place.

It is a complex structure that includes an auditorium (congress center), a museum, exhibition halls, administrative offices. It is named after the third President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. The project of the center was developed in 2007 by architect Zaha Hadid. The director of the Heydar Aliyev Center is Anar Alekperov. The Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center is considered one of the symbols of modern Baku.
